Gabriel Saucedo, PhD, CPA

Gabriel Saucedo joined Seattle University in 2014 from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he worked as a graduate assistant 和 completed his doctoral studies. Prior to completing his PhD, Gabriel earned his undergraduate business administration degree from Gonzaga University, 和 then spent 6 years with KPMG-Seattle in the audit practice, focusing on consumer product 和 healthcare clients.

Gabriel's research is in the area of auditor 和 investor decision-making, with specific focuses in feedback systems, voluntary disclosures, 和 human capital. In addition, Gabriel writes academic cases for classroom integration, three of which have won awards from the Teaching, Learning 和 Curriculum Section of the American Accounting Association. His work has been published in the International Journal of Auditing, Current Issues in Auditing, Managerial Auditing Journal, the Journal of Accounting Education, 和 the Review of Business. Gabriel’s teaching experience includes both undergraduate 和 graduate-level auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, 和 introduction to information systems. He is recognized as a KPMG Diversity Scholar, 和 is a faculty professor for Audit Foundations, a section of KPMG’s Business School.

Gabriel is currently the Accounting Department Chair 和 advises Seattle University’s Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP). He also is on the editorial board of both Issues in Accounting Education 和 Current Issues in Auditing. In his spare time, Gabriel enjoys playing volleyball 和 has medaled in regional, national, 和 international tournaments.
